Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Gigel Plopeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Şerb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute of the match Filip Giugiuc shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gigel Plopeanu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Octavian Şneapotă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Gigel Plopeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the game, Pihna's David Ghețea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emil Săraru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 15thth minute of the game Fabian Şerb who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pihna's Gigel Plopeanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabian Şerb in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigel Plopeanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabian Şerb in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gigel Plopeanu saved Pihna from getting behind. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Boteni's goalkeeper Emil Săraru, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gigel Plopeanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Şerb in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Fabian Şerb got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filip Giugiuc took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gigel Plopeanu. Pihna's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Fabian Şerb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodor Lovin kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. FC Boteni's Ivan Valeca got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicu Mateescu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gigel Plopeanu. Pihna's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Teodor Lovin's late challenge caught a FC Boteni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teodor Lovin helped the player get up and apologised. Teodor Lovin kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Niculae Braia hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabian Şerb during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 62 played minutes Pihna got a freekick which was hit by Niculae Braia. Fabian Şerb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Gigel Plopeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, FC Boteni's goal looked a bit too open when Olimpiu Brezeanu came free, but Emil Săraru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 70 played minutes, Pihna's Costică Stafie shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emil Săraru came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pihna reached it. Emil Săraru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristi Tudor, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Boteni's zone, Cristi Tudor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emil Săraru came out of the goal and Cristi Tudor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olimpiu Brezeanu in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emil Săraru saved FC Boteni from getting behind. After 88 minutes of play, Pihna's David Ghețea made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emil Săraru was left in no man's land by his defense there! 91 minutes into the match, Pihna's Cristi Tudor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emil Săraru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gigel Plopeanu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Filip Giugiuc. When Octavian Şneapotă came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the FC Boteni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Octavian Şneapotă couldn't finish the play. Pihna's Cristi Tudor got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pihna were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC Boteni for a fine match.
