The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ferdinand Bădiliță's late challenge caught a OSK Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Glodeni booed when OSK Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horea Dragnea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bogdan Capșuneanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iurie Penaru in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudiu Pârcălab prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iurie Penaru in the 23rd minute of play forced OSK Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe's goalkeeper Claudiu Pârcălab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Ionel Giurăscu managed to get in a good position for a shot. OSK Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe's supporters rose to their feet, but Ionel Giurăscu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petrică Tudose breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Pavel Harhoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the game, Glodeni's Gelu Chirițescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudiu Pârcălab made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 31 played minutes Glodeni got a freekick which was hit by Iurie Penaru. The supporters of OSK Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe booed when Glodeni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nae Brezoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute Iurie Penaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudiu Pârcălab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gelu Chirițescu made a great header on Glodeni's corner, it was just that OSK Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe's Claudiu Pârcălab managed to reach the ball for a save. Claudiu Pârcălab showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codrin Hurgoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 44th minute, Eugen Axinia had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 44 minutes into the game, Codrin Hurgoi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Glodeni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave OSK Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe the free kick. In the 44th match minute, Glodeni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codrin Hurgoi to maneuver through the defense. Răzvan Chițac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Horea Dragnea made a kick off. Horea Dragnea charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Horea Dragnea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A sloppy throw-in by Ovidiu Alexe in the 58th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by OSK Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe's Gabriel Bistreanu. Petrică Tudose didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vintilă Iosif went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. In the 74th minute, Petruț Andrițoiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petrică Tudose showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horea Dragnea, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute, Glodeni's Petruț Andrițoiu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Petruț Andrițoiu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Glodeni protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Petruț Andrițoiu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Petruț Andrițoiu hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Glodeni's Petrică Tudose played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionel Giurăscu in the 90th minute of play. Petrică Tudose took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Harhoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, Horea Dragnea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Petrică Tudose. Glodeni's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horea Dragnea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. When the referee ended the match the OSK Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
