After 14 played minutes Dinamo got a freekick which was hit by Valer Ghercioiu. With a little luck, Dinamo's Leontin Manu got control of the ball when Radu Schipor tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Dinamo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marin Negulescu to maneuver through the defense. The Gefu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Horea Bîlbă made a kick off. In the 57th minute Iurie Milcoveanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leontin Manu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horea Bîlbă did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Mihai Zgondea 59 minutes into the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horea Bîlbă couldn't finish the play. When Horea Bîlbă came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Dinamo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horea Bîlbă couldn't finish the play. Stelian Strungă might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mihai Zgondea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stelian Strungă ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Gefu's zone, Horea Bîlbă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihai Zgondea came out of the goal and Horea Bîlbă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Dinamo's Cristian Pătrășcanu got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Leontin Manu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Mâinea in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Gefu's goalkeeper Mihai Zgondea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Horea Bîlbă. After 86 played minutes Gefu got a freekick which was hit by Horia Gugea. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stelian Strungă in the 90th minute of play forced Gefu's goalkeeper Mihai Zgondea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st match minute, Gefu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Gugea to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes into the game, Stelian Strungă recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mihai Zgondea. Stelian Strungă showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. When the match was over Dinamo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gefu throughout the match.
