Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Costel Neguțu started the match with the kick off. Mădălin Ecobescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costică Cînu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Costel Neguțu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mădălin Ecobescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Jiul Petrosani getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Nicodim Muscă hit a great ball. Mădălin Ecobescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costel Neguțu in the 13th minute of play. FC Jiul Petrosani's Mădălin Ecobescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costică Cînu in the 18th minute of play. After 25 played minutes FC Jiul Petrosani got a freekick which was hit by Ciprian Stoiculescu. In the 26thth minute of the game Gavril Caba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Jiul Petrosani's Mădălin Ecobescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th minute, Costică Cînu made a precise shot to the right of Mădălin Ecobescu. FC Jiul Petrosani's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After a rather tough play, FC Jiul Petrosani's Ciprian Stoiculescu got a free kick in the 31st minute. A collision led to Ciobanul CSM getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ilie Adam hit a great ball. Mădălin Ecobescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costică Cînu in the 37th minute of the match. Mădălin Ecobescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costel Neguțu in the 40th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Costel Neguțu notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC Jiul Petrosani's Mădălin Ecobescu. Mădălin Ecobescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 46th minute Costică Cînu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mădălin Ecobescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mădălin Taşcă was the one to do the kick off. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of FC Jiul Petrosani:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ciobanul CSM:s goal. The goalkeeper, Mădălin Ecobescu, was totally fooled by Ciobanul CSM's Gavril Caba, who 55 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Costică Cînu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Costel Neguțu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mădălin Ecobescu having to interfere. Costică Cînu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Mădălin Ecobescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costică Cînu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mădălin Ecobescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Mădălin Ecobescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Costel Neguțu went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Niculae Axinte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciprian Stoiculescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. With a little luck, FC Jiul Petrosani's Mădălin Ecobescu got control of the ball when Costel Neguțu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Costel Neguțu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Costel Neguțu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mădălin Ecobescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costică Cînu in the 97th minute of play.
