Gelu Opriș made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Isac Isăceanu sent off a good shot on target. Filip Jucu's late challenge caught a Cuceu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filip Jucu helped the player get up and apologised. Filip Jucu hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Puini's zone, Claudiu Lupescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gelu Opriș came out of the goal and Claudiu Lupescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute Claudiu Lupescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gelu Opriș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudiu Lupescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Isac Isăceanu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. Cuceu's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 27th minute, Isac Isăceanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cezar Drăgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Melinte in the 30th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Manuel Bordeianu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cezar Drăgan was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Gelu Opriș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudiu Lupescu in the 34th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudiu Lupescu made a kick off. If Manuel Bordeianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodor Cimpoieru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isac Isăceanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gelu Opriș having to make a save. Isac Isăceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Gelu Opriș tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Isac Isăceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuceu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isac Isăceanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute, Claudiu Lupescu made a precise shot to the right of Gelu Opriș. Puini's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Bordeianu in the 74th minute of play forced Cuceu's goalkeeper Cezar Drăgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes in the game, Alex Melinte fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Cezar Drăgan having to interfere. If Alex Melinte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Claudiu Lupescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 81 minutes, Isac Isăceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Puini's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudiu Lupescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudiu Lupescu in the 98th minute of play forced Puini's goalkeeper Gelu Opriș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Claudiu Lupescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cuceu walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
