Gelu Opriș showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tudor Mușătescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Petrică Bogrea charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Petrică Bogrea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 28 played minutes FIBREXNylon Piatra Neamt got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Bogrea. Laurențiu Hizo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alex Melinte went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Manuel Bordeianu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Laurențiu Hizo came out and tried to block the shot, but Manuel Bordeianu slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 41st minute. If Manuel Bordeianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Manuel Bordeianu made the kick off in the second half. If Alex Melinte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FIBREXNylon Piatra Neamt booed when Puini was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marius Calota didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Tudor Mușătescu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gelu Opriș. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Horaţiu Voitiş managed to get in a good position for a shot. FIBREXNylon Piatra Neamt's supporters rose to their feet, but Horaţiu Voitiş was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gelu Opriș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horaţiu Voitiş in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gelu Opriș prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 92nd minute, Puini's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tudor Mușătescu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tudor Mușătescu got free with Gelu Opriș in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
