After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Vali Albu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but Vali Albu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stelian Aronescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 44thth minute of the game Cristian Verzeanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Borussia Dortmund's Codrin Penaru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alin Romoşan got in the 49th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Codrin Penaru handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victor Hoancă stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Stelian Aronescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vali Albu in the 55th minute of play.
