Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dráusio Pereira got the match started through his kick off. A collision led to Santamaria getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Marcel Jugănaru hit a great ball. In the 4thth minute of the game Dráusio Pereira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santamaria's Iulian Seţeanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Santamaria's Iulian Seţeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silviu Gâdea in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Jiul Petrosani 1919's goalkeeper Constantin Basarab had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcel Mărăscu. Constantin Basarab showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Mărăscu in the 8th minute of the match. In the 10th minute of the match Silviu Carp shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iulian Seţeanu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 15 played minutes Santamaria got a freekick which was hit by Bogdan Orășan. Silviu Carp took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Iulian Seţeanu. Santamaria's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Iulian Seţeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionuț Panțâru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ionuț Panțâru might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iulian Seţeanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ionuț Panțâru ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcel Mărăscu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Constantin Basarab showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavian Rogozanu in the 33rd minute of the match. Iulian Seţeanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dráusio Pereira's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dráusio Pereira in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iulian Seţeanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Constantin Basarab made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Mărăscu in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Octavian Rogozanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Constantin Basarab tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iulian Seţeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aron Ilinca, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Dráusio Pereira struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Iulian Seţeanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jiul Petrosani 1919. Constantin Basarab made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavian Rogozanu in the 58th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Jiul Petrosani 1919's zone, Marcel Mărăscu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Constantin Basarab came out of the goal and Marcel Mărăscu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute Santamaria were awarded a corner. Ion Trăilă went to the cornerflag to take it. Santamaria's Petrică Mitrea was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Constantin Basarab in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Santamaria's zone, Felix Miclovan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iulian Seţeanu came out of the goal and Felix Miclovan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ionuț Panțâru struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Iulian Seţeanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jiul Petrosani 1919. Silviu Gâdea's late challenge caught a Santamaria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silviu Gâdea helped the player get up and apologised. Silviu Gâdea kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Jiul Petrosani 1919's Constantin Basarab played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Mărăscu in the 85th minute of play. Marcel Mărăscu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantin Basarab having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Jiul Petrosani 1919 eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
