Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gavril Ştef kicked off to start the match. Dragoiasa's Nicu Baldovin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihai Bălțăteanu in the 5th minute of play. Mădălin Tatulici kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. A collision led to Dragoiasa getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Costin Găvănescu hit a great ball. After having played for 10 minutes, Mihai Bălțăteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Republica Ploiești's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihai Bălțăteanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mihai Bălțăteanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Nicu Baldovin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Narcis Bojin was extremely unlucky when he, in the 15th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Horia Filipașcu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavril Ştef in the 19th minute of play. Mihai Bălțăteanu struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Nicu Baldovin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Republica Ploiești. Nicu Baldovin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihai Bălțăteanu in the 25th minute of the match. Nicu Baldovin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihai Bălțăteanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Horia Filipașcu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narcis Bojin in the 31st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mihai Bălțăteanu in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicu Baldovin saved Dragoiasa from getting behind. Virgil Teodorescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicu Baldovin having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Dragoiasa's Mădălin Tatulici got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 48th minute, Gavril Ştef fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mihai Bălțăteanu to make the kick off. Virgil Teodorescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 58 minutes into the game, Ovidiu Jucan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Republica Ploiești's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dragoiasa the free kick. Ovidiu Jucan kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match.
