Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Vasile Moisescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Cătălin Aronescu made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in FC Steaua Lehliu's zone, Cazimir Albescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cătălin Aronescu came out of the goal and Cazimir Albescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th match minute, FC Steaua Lehliu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iustin Hurezeanu to maneuver through the defense. Nechifor Chibulcutean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tudor Țâpu having to interfere. In the 11th minute Valentin Gar suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The supporters of FC Steaua Lehliu booed when Bata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viorel Prunaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cătălin Aronescu made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Vasile Moisescu sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vasile Moisescu got free with Cătălin Aronescu in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Steaua Lehliu's Cătălin Aronescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viorel Prunaru in the 18th minute of play. With a little luck, FC Steaua Lehliu's Cătălin Aronescu got control of the ball when Vasile Moisescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cătălin Aronescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cazimir Albescu's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the game, Aristide Bărboianu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Steaua Lehliu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bata the free kick. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Bata's goal looked a bit too open when Nechifor Chibulcutean came free, but Tudor Țâpu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nechifor Chibulcutean blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tudor Țâpu having to make a save. Tudor Țâpu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nechifor Chibulcutean in the 41st minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cazimir Albescu to make the kick off. Cătălin Aronescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasile Moisescu in the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th minute, FC Steaua Lehliu's Florin Babarada seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Florin Babarada the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Steaua Lehliu protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Florin Babarada had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of FC Steaua Lehliu:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bata:s goal. Cătălin Aronescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cazimir Albescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Serafin Elija might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tudor Țâpu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
