The referee ignored rozator's protests and gave Ionică Lozovan a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes rozator got a freekick which was hit by Ionică Lozovan. Nichifor Adomniței stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Octavian Bogdan's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Viorel Stamatiu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mugur Valerian. rozator's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Gigi Papadache came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the rozator fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gigi Papadache couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Ponoreni SC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Viorel Stamatiu hit a great ball. Remus Manafu kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The nice shot from Mihai Isopescu in the 26thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Mugur Valerian had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Gelu Steriopol charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gelu Steriopol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A hard shot by Nicolae Ghionaru from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Mugur Valerian's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Martin Corbea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugur Valerian having to interfere. The supporters of Ponoreni SC booed when rozator was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narcis Orădan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Emanuel Şoimu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mihai Isopescu to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes, Ponoreni SC's Dorin Zbârciog shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mugur Valerian came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ponoreni SC reached it. In the 61st minute of the game, Remus Manafu landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 61 minutes into the game, Emanuel Şoimu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponoreni SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave rozator the free kick. Emanuel Şoimu hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Octavian Bogdan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Ponoreni SC's Nichifor Adomniței got control of the ball when Octavian Bogdan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 81 played minutes, Ponoreni SC's Nicolae Ghionaru shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mugur Valerian came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. After having played for 95 minutes, Dacian Stănciulaş managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponoreni SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dacian Stănciulaş was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Despite being the better team, rozator failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
