With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remus Cucerdean in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusebiu Otopeanu saved Comanacu from getting behind. Gelu Mârza charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gelu Mârza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Comanacu getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Gelu Mârza hit a great ball. A hard shot 41 in the game by Lucian Honcioiu from a close distance when the talented Eusebiu Petrea managed to make a qualified save. Craiova's players were relieved. 44 minutes into the match, Craiova's goalkeeper Eusebiu Petrea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucian Honcioiu. In the 46th minute, Lucian Honcioiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Adrian Buligan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusebiu Otopeanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Lucrețiu Cârju struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Eusebiu Otopeanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Craiova. When Eliodor Mitrea fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Comanacu's protests and gave Eliodor Mitrea a yellow card for diving instead. After 71 played minutes Comanacu got a freekick which was hit by Eliodor Mitrea. After a defensive mix-up in Comanacu's zone, Remus Cucerdean stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusebiu Otopeanu came out of the goal and Remus Cucerdean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Rareș Neața fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Comanacu's protests and gave Rareș Neața a yellow card for diving instead. Rareș Neața hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 86 minutes in the game Tiberiu Mailat did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Petre Gheție. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucian Honcioiu in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusebiu Petrea saved Craiova from getting behind. Comanacu's Eusebiu Otopeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remus Cucerdean in the 94th minute of play. When the match was over Craiova could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Comanacu throughout the match.
