Manole Isvoreanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Francisc Ţeica tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francisc Ţeica made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Isvoreanu in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aron Chindriș in the 11th minute of play forced Rapid FC's goalkeeper Francisc Ţeica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, ACSMU Poli's Aron Chindriș got a free kick in the 16th minute. ACSMU Poli's Romeo Rucăreanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save ACSMU Poli from getting a goal against them. Romeo Rucăreanu made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Maxim Pop sent off a good shot on target. Romeo Rucăreanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maxim Pop in the 25th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Augustin Cosoroabă kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Romeo Rucăreanu. That made the score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play. Eliodor Foltea lost his temper 30 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 30 minutes into the game, one of ACSMU Poli:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 32nd minute there was a penalty for Rapid FC. Fabian Hrib stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Romeo Rucăreanu. 2-0. When Sever Sântimbrean fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ACSMU Poli's protests and gave Sever Sântimbrean a yellow card for diving instead. Augustin Cosoroabă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of ACSMU Poli booed when Rapid FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liviu Urdea didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bogdan Oncu to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogdan Oncu in the 55th minute of play forced Rapid FC's goalkeeper Francisc Ţeica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aron Chindriș charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Romeo Rucăreanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maxim Pop, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Rapid FC's Francisc Ţeica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manole Isvoreanu in the 69th minute of play. ACSMU Poli's Bogdan Oncu got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute Augustin Cosoroabă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Rucăreanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisc Ţeica was a little too slow when Bogdan Oncu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 2-2. 88 minutes into the game, Dragoş Iordan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ACSMU Poli's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rapid FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, ACSMU Poli's Dragoş Iordan got a free kick in the 88th minute. Rapid FC's Francisc Ţeica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manole Isvoreanu in the 96th minute of play. ACSMU Poli played a much better game than Rapid FC and deserved their victory. The Rapid FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
