The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Olimpiu Uncescu hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. The Pogonestii CS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vlad Gănescu got free with Adam Ostoici in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the game, Pogonestii CS's Doru Arvinte nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicodim Malcocea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Pogonestii CS's Doru Arvinte got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pogonestii CS's Leonard Bucuță got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute, FC Bujoreni's Iulian Pârlog seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Iulian Pârlog the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Bujoreni protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Iulian Pârlog had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 38th minute, one of FC Bujoreni:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Bujoreni. The supporters of FC Bujoreni booed when Pogonestii CS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Bucuță didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute, Alexandru Prisecaru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Bujoreni fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leonard Bucuță to strike the kick off in the second half. Dumitru Enachescu charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dumitru Enachescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd minute, Dumitru Enachescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicodim Malcocea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Bucuță in the 61st minute of play. Doru Arvinte struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Nicodim Malcocea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pogonestii CS. Nicodim Malcocea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonard Bucuță in the 83rd minute of the match. Leonard Bucuță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodim Malcocea having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Leonard Bucuță took a quick shot and it went in 1-6 without a chance for Nicodim Malcocea to make any attempt to save it. 93 minutes into the match, Cornel Georgescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adam Ostoici. Pogonestii CS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cornel Georgescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. Nicodim Malcocea made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Doru Arvinte sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle sounded Pogonestii CS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Bujoreni.
