Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Robert Kosgei started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Walthamstow's goalkeeper Emilio Ntalami had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cyrus Israel. If Cyrus Israel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Walthamstow getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Bwana Wangeci hit a great ball. Emilio Ntalami showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Kosgei in the 14th minute of the match. When Dann Kigotho came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Walthamstow fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dann Kigotho couldn't finish the play. After having played for 17 minutes, John Matu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Walthamstow's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Matu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 19 played minutes Walthamstow got a freekick which was hit by Ali Ndereba. Ratemo Akinyi hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th match minute, Blackheath was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Kosgei to maneuver through the defense. Yobes Wambua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dann Kigotho in the 28th minute of the match. Yobes Wambua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Matu in the 29th minute of play. When Dann Kigotho came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Walthamstow fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dann Kigotho couldn't finish the play. 44 minutes into the game, John Matu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Walthamstow's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blackheath the free kick. After a rather tough play, Walthamstow's John Matu got a free kick in the 45th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Cyrus Israel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blackheath's supporters rose to their feet, but Cyrus Israel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilio Ntalami breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 46 played minutes Walthamstow got a freekick which was hit by Bwana Wangeci. In the 47th minute, Blackheath's Robert Kosgei dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dann Kigotho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Cyrus Israel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emilio Ntalami. Walthamstow's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cyrus Israel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 68 minutes of play, Blackheath's Robert Kosgei made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emilio Ntalami was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cyrus Israel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Blackheath's Cyrus Israel got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute Robert Kosgei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Ntalami saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Blackheath! When the match had been going on for 94 minutes, Walthamstow's Ali Ndereba got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Yobes Wambua. Ratemo Akinyi hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Walthamstow players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Blackheath.
