Leopoldo Paz made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Jomo Leakey sent off a good shot on target. Shoto Mwangi kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Oburu Kiprop came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Aylesbury's Ma Li Sang. But to his dismay, Ma Li Sang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Leopoldo Paz was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Moses Akinyi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Moses Akinyi really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ma Li Sang in the 24th minute of play forced Botswana Meat Commission's goalkeeper Oburu Kiprop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oburu Kiprop showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radomil Skrzypek in the 26th minute of the match. Milton Melgar hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Samson Kiptanui managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botswana Meat Commission's supporters rose to their feet, but Samson Kiptanui was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leopoldo Paz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 35 minutes, Radomil Skrzypek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aylesbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but Radomil Skrzypek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 36 played minutes Botswana Meat Commission got a freekick which was hit by Moses Akinyi. In the 37th match minute, Aylesbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milton Melgar to maneuver through the defense. 40 minutes into the match, Aylesbury's goalkeeper Leopoldo Paz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Koech. In the 42nd minute, Aylesbury's Milton Melgar seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Milton Melgar the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Aylesbury protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Milton Melgar had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Ma Li Sang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oburu Kiprop having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samson Kiptanui made a kick off. Oburu Kiprop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Kimutai in the 53rd minute of play. Aylesbury were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Botswana Meat Commission's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ma Li Sang took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Botswana Meat Commission's goalie and right to Yobes Nduro. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Botswana Meat Commission's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yobes Nduro in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oburu Kiprop saved Botswana Meat Commission from getting behind. 62 minutes into the match, Aylesbury's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Koech came free, but Leopoldo Paz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute Jomo Leakey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Paz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leopoldo Paz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 85 minutes into the game, Ogembo Mulama threw the ball into play from the sideline. Aylesbury's Charles Kimutai quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Aylesbury's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
