When the match had been going on for 9 minutes, Aylesbury's Ma Li Sang got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Wilson Uche. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hassan Waroo to make the kick off. If Hidayet Sati had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. William Damji Pattni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 66 minutes into the game, Ma Li Sang cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-2. Wilson Uche was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Milton Melgar's late challenge caught a Brighton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Milton Melgar helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Brighton booed when Aylesbury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position.
