The referee felt a red card was in order, 44 minutes into the game, when Omiros Mitsotakis put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Elefthéri:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mαkres BC:s goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fotis Rousseas to strike the kick off in the second half. Fondas Konstantinou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fotis Rousseas in the 64th minute of play. If Fotis Rousseas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Fotis Rousseas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fondas Konstantinou. Mαkres BC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fotis Rousseas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Fotis Rousseass short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Fondas Konstantinou to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
