The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Khαrkia FC got a freekick which was hit by Aggelos Katsavos. In the 6th minute, Fondas Kostarakis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nikolas Mendrinos. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 9th minute Aggelos Katsavos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikolas Mendrinos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alkinoos Stratos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eustratios Mavrogenidis having to interfere. Alkinoos Stratos's late challenge caught a Khαrkia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alkinoos Stratos helped the player get up and apologised. Nikolas Mendrinos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aggelos Katsavos went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Ignatios Garpozis succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 21st playminute. Nikolas Mendrinos made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Ignatios Garpozis sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Simaras FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Alkinoos Stratos hit a great ball. In the 31st minute, Petros Martinakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simaras FC's Nikolas Mendrinos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aggelos Katsavos in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermis Kalomantis in the 35th minute of play forced Khαrkia FC's goalkeeper Eustratios Mavrogenidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ignatios Garpozis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eustratios Mavrogenidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marios Kalaitzis, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Fondas Kostarakis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nikolas Mendrinos came out and tried to block the shot, but Fondas Kostarakis slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 40th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Odysseas Skopidis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Khαrkia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Odysseas Skopidis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nikolas Mendrinos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Khαrkia FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Iraklis Tzolis hit a great ball. Eustratios Mavrogenidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marios Kalaitzis in the 48th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marios Kalaitzis to make the kick off. Koulis Tzanakakis charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Koulis Tzanakakis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Simaras FC booed when Khαrkia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koulis Tzanakakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Khαrkia FC's goalkeeper Eustratios Mavrogenidis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marios Kalaitzis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the match, Khαrkia FC's goalkeeper Eustratios Mavrogenidis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marios Kalaitzis. Vaggelis Lazaridis hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Simaras FC's Nikolas Mendrinos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fondas Kostarakis in the 66th minute of play. Marios Kalaitzis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eustratios Mavrogenidis having to interfere. Eustratios Mavrogenidis didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Simaras FC's Marios Kalaitzis shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 5-2 in the ordered_time% minute. 79 minutes into the game, Odysseas Skopidis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-2. Nikolas Mendrinos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Prokopis Sentouikidis's late challenge caught a Khαrkia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Nikolas Mendrinos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fondas Kostarakis in the 85th minute of play. Ermis Kalomantis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Eustratios Mavrogenidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ermis Kalomantis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Khαrkia FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
