Geroplαtanos's Sotos Kafropoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giannis Tsirikolias in the 3rd minute of play. Verdhikoϊsa FC's Dimitris Leontoulis got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, Geroplαtanos's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitris Leontoulis came free, but Sotos Kafropoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Geroplαtanos fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Verdhikoϊsa FC a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Antonis Filippas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Geroplαtanos's Sotos Kafropoulos. 0-1. 34 minutes into the match, Geroplαtanos's goal looked a bit too open when Giannis Tsirikolias came free, but Sotos Kafropoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Geroplαtanos getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Christoforos Zolotas hit a great ball. After 41 minutes of play, Verdhikoϊsa FC's Dimitris Leontoulis made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sotos Kafropoulos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Achilleas Skatzos to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Giannis Tsirikolias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giannis Tsirikolias struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Sotos Kafropoulos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verdhikoϊsa FC. Sotos Kafropoulos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giannis Tsirikolias in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute Dimitris Leontoulis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sotos Kafropoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Geroplαtanos's Sotos Kafropoulos got control of the ball when Giannis Tsirikolias tried to sneak it across the goal line. Giotis Kouros kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Theocharis Thomiou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giotis Kouros's late challenge caught a Verdhikoϊsa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 82nd minute, Verdhikoϊsa FC's Dimitris Leontoulis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sotos Kafropoulos. Sotos Kafropoulos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giannis Tsirikolias got free with Sotos Kafropoulos in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 92 minutes into the game, Adamantios Tsalouchidis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Geroplαtanos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Verdhikoϊsa FC the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, Geroplαtanos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adamantios Tsalouchidis to maneuver through the defense. If Dimitris Leontoulis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Verdhikoϊsa FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
