The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Savas Thanoglou in the 5th minute of play forced Grammatikoϊ's goalkeeper Soulis Sepsas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anagennisi Karditsas's Ntinos Kanelidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyriakos Vidalis in the 7th minute of play. In the 11th minute Kyriakos Roubakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ntinos Kanelidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Anagennisi Karditsas's Stelios Akrividis got a free kick in the 12th minute. Anagennisi Karditsas's Ntinos Kanelidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyriakos Vidalis in the 13th minute of play. Soulis Sepsas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Savas Thanoglou in the 15th minute. After having played for 16 minutes, Christos Karagounis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anagennisi Karditsas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christos Karagounis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kyriakos Vidalis struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Ntinos Kanelidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grammatikoϊ. In the 24th match minute, Anagennisi Karditsas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestoras Karagounis to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Grammatikoϊ booed when Anagennisi Karditsas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestoras Karagounis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ntinos Kanelidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thodoris Dermitzakis in the 37th minute of the match. After 38 minutes, Savas Thanoglou mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Anagennisi Karditsas and the Grammatikoϊ players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Anagennisi Karditsas getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Savas Thanoglou hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thodoris Dermitzakis in the 41st minute of play forced Anagennisi Karditsas's goalkeeper Ntinos Kanelidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ntinos Kanelidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyriakos Vidalis in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Kyriakos Vidalis made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Thodoris Dermitzakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grammatikoϊ's supporters rose to their feet, but Thodoris Dermitzakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ntinos Kanelidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Kyriakos Vidalis came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Grammatikoϊ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kyriakos Vidalis couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Grammatikoϊ's Apostolikas Telemes got a free kick in the 66th minute. Soulis Sepsas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Savas Thanoglou in the 70th minute of the match. Chrisostomos Kefalas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 74th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Kyriakos Vidalis struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Ntinos Kanelidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grammatikoϊ. Ntinos Kanelidis made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Alkis Kontodimos sent off a good shot on target. Grammatikoϊ played a much better game than Anagennisi Karditsas and deserved their victory. The Anagennisi Karditsas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
