After having played for 53 minutes, Fanis Karakostas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Messolóngi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fanis Karakostas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Iakovos Belevonis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fanis Karakostas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Fanis Karakostas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Messolóngi fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Messolóngi's Menelaos Tsoumadas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Messolóngi's Fanis Karakostas got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 80 minutes into the match, Messolóngi's Menelaos Tsoumadas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iakovos Belevonis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Menelaos Tsoumadas, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 87 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Iakovos Belevonis was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Dimosthenis Tsioris struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Iakovos Belevonis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Messolóngi. Menelaos Tsoumadas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iakovos Belevonis having to interfere. If Menelaos Tsoumadas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Messolóngi were the better team. Messolóngi's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
