The Purola fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Purola's Leevi Vuori looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 25 played minutes Purola got a freekick which was hit by Jukka Kanninen. After having played for 26 minutes, Severi Piiroinen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ultrAs fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severi Piiroinen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Taito Salomaa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ossi Kahra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pertti Piispa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miikka Mäkilä in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, ultrAs fc's Kai Pylkäs got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute of the match Marko Kuki sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pertti Piispa skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 46 minutes, Jukka Kanninen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Purola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jukka Kanninen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Uljas Hakanen in the 49th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pertti Piispa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Uljas Hakanen to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Purola defense, Severi Piiroinen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ossi Kahra. The Purola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ossi Kahra should have stopped the shot. Aappo Latvanen charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aappo Latvanen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Aappo Latvanen hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After 62 played minutes Purola got a freekick which was hit by Miikka Mäkilä. If Taito Salomaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Purola's zone, Taito Salomaa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ossi Kahra came out of the goal and Taito Salomaa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severi Piiroinen in the 82nd minute of play forced Purola's goalkeeper Ossi Kahra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Taito Salomaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severi Piiroinen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Taito Salomaa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ossi Kahra having to interfere. After 97 minutes of play, ultrAs fc's Severi Piiroinen made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ossi Kahra was left in no man's land by his defense there!
