Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Tatu Laukkanen started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute, Tampere United's Jan Gustafsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Yrjö Hana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Miro Pyhältö tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tatu Laukkanen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Juha-Pekka Suoste tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uuno Salermo charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Uuno Salermo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 16 minutes into the match, Aarno Kanerva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Miro Pyhältö. Tampere United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aarno Kanerva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Tatu Laukkanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yrjö Hana in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miro Pyhältö saved Tampere United from getting behind. Juha-Pekka Suoste showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tatu Laukkanen in the 31st minute of the match. Aarno Kanerva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Miro Pyhältö tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aarno Kanerva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aarno Kanerva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miro Pyhältö having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yrjö Hana was the one to do the kick off. When Arvi Laamanen fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tampere United's protests and gave Arvi Laamanen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd minute, Arvi Laamanen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Iisakki Lehtonen during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Vålax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iisakki Lehtonen to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute of the match Eero Hiedanpää sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juha-Pekka Suoste skillfully saved the ball. Tatu Laukkanen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Vålax booed when Tampere United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kimi Viuhkola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yrjö Hana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juha-Pekka Suoste showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tatu Laukkanen in the 73rd minute of the match. Jan Gustafsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juha-Pekka Suoste read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Uuno Salermo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Yrjö Hana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute, Tatu Laukkanen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tampere United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Yrjö Hana kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Miro Pyhältö. That made the score 2-3 in the 97 minute of play.
