Lasse Leppilampi succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 25th playminute. 29 minutes into the match, Blacksmith Villagers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vilppu Vehmanen came free, but Usko Pietikäinen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Panu Elovaara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hemmo Peltonen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Vilppu Vehmanen fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Usko Pietikäinen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vilppu Vehmanen in the 35th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

In the 69th minute, Vilppu Vehmanen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Vilppu Vehmanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute, Lasse Leppilampi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mennen FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The supporters of Blacksmith Villagers FC booed when Mennen FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jyrki Timonen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Salomo Gustafsson got free with Hemmo Peltonen in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mennen FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Blacksmith Villagers FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
