Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Petri Palenius started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Zenit's goalkeeper Isto Könönen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Petri Palenius in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isto Könönen saved FC Zenit from getting behind. Huovila IFK's Petri Palenius got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Petri Palenius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Isto Könönen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isto Könönen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petri Palenius, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Petri Palenius kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Isto Könönen. That made the score 1-0 in the 29 minute of play. In the 33rdth minute of the game Pauli Junnila who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Huovila IFK's Elmer Malmivaara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Zenit's Isto Könönen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save FC Zenit from getting a goal against them. Huovila IFK's Elmer Huikari got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Petri Palenius came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Huovila IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petri Palenius couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vesa Peltonen was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, FC Zenit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kuisma Nyman to maneuver through the defense. Isto Könönen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aappo Lumio, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. If Petri Palenius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute, Elmer Huikari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Miska Miettinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 60th minute of the game. One of FC Zenit:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Huovila IFK:s goal. With a little luck, Huovila IFK's Elmer Malmivaara got control of the ball when Pauli Junnila tried to sneak it across the goal line. The long shot by Joonatan Lindberg in the 77th minute really tested Elmer Malmivaara's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Petri Palenius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isto Könönen having to interfere. In the 90th minute Petri Palenius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isto Könönen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rdth minute of the game Miska Miettinen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Zenit's Isto Könönen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
