Lauri Suominen's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Toimi Lindberg skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Lauri Suominen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Toimi Lindberg having to make a save. Gunners's Ylermi Väänänen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaakoppi Vapaniemi in the 33rd minute of play. The supporters of Gunners booed when Metalupuass was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teemu Lagerblom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Toimi Lindberg came out of the goal and Lauri Suominen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lauri Suominen in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Toimi Lindberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Toimi Lindberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Verneri Kolsi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
