The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 19 played minutes Nihka got a freekick which was hit by Tõnu Niidumaa. When Margus Roosileht came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Nihka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Margus Roosileht couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Maimsaare defense, Ants Rannik kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olle Jalakas. The Maimsaare fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olle Jalakas should have stopped the shot. If Edmund Jobu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antti Kadarpik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ants Rannik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olle Jalakas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ants Rannik, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The referee ignored Maimsaare's protests and gave Märt Vaima a yellow card for diving instead. Märt Vaima hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Ants Rannik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olle Jalakas having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Maimsaare had won after a very even match.
