When Svetapolk Arhipov came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Freedom fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Svetapolk Arhipov couldn't finish the play. Vyacheslav Sokolikov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svetapolk Arhipov, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Vadim Ivashenko might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vyacheslav Sokolikov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vadim Ivashenko ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to FC Neman getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Apanas Medvedev hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Vadim Ivashenko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Neman's Vyacheslav Sokolikov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svetapolk Arhipov in the 48th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Stepan Ratov's late challenge caught a FC Neman's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Svetapolk Arhipov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Freedom booed when FC Neman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egor Chubryk didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Vadim Ivashenko made a precise shot to the right of Vyacheslav Sokolikov. FC Neman's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Freedom had won after a very even match.
