In the 5th minute, Akif Älibalalı hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Toğrul Albändäyev charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toğrul Albändäyev the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 7th match minute, Şirvan SFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toğrul Albändäyev to maneuver through the defense. Hacı Paşayevs short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Göyüş Abişov to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Säbuhi Näcäfov during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Naftalan PFC's Säbuhi Näcäfov got a free kick in the 18th minute. After 21 minutes of play, Naftalan PFC's Vüqar Älişov made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cabbar Mayilov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cabbar Mayilov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilvan Queiroz in the 23rd minute of the match. A collision led to Şirvan SFC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Akif Älibalalı hit a great ball. The supporters of Naftalan PFC booed when Şirvan SFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Äbülfät Vermäliyev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dawid Pietrowski struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Cabbar Mayilov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Naftalan PFC. In the 40th minute Vüqar Älişov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cabbar Mayilov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Şirvan SFC's Toğrul Albändäyev got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Naftalan PFC's goal looked a bit too open when Talib Camalov came free, but Göyüş Abişov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Naftalan PFC's Gilvan Queiroz in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Şirvan SFC's goalie prevented a goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilvan Queiroz was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Talib Camalov in the 52nd minute of play forced Naftalan PFC's goalkeeper Göyüş Abişov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toğrul Albändäyev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Göyüş Abişov having to interfere. The supporters of Şirvan SFC booed when Naftalan PFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tacir Baxışov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Şirvan SFC's Hacı Paşayev got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 65th minute, Toğrul Albändäyev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Älirza Alduxov took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Cabbar Mayilov to make any attempt to save it. Cabbar Mayilov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilvan Queiroz in the 76th minute of the match. A collision led to Şirvan SFC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Akif Älibalalı hit a great ball. Vüqar Älişov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cabbar Mayilov having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Naftalan PFC's zone, Hacı Paşayev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Göyüş Abişov came out of the goal and Hacı Paşayev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute, Talib Camalov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Göyüş Abişov was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 89 played minutes Şirvan SFC got a freekick which was hit by Hacı Paşayev. After a defensive mix-up in Şirvan SFC's zone, Vüqar Älişov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cabbar Mayilov came out of the goal and Vüqar Älişov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Älirza Alduxov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilvan Queiroz got free with Cabbar Mayilov in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Akif Älibalalı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Naftalan PFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Naftalan PFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
