After a rather tough play, Almaty Stars's Arkadiy Solodov got a free kick in the 4th minute. If Pavel Dmitriev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. David Semagin came out of the goal and Pavel Dmitriev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Semagin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Dmitriev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitaliy Zhuravlev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Lauras Mészáros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lauras Mészáros came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Almaty Stars's Denis Silin. But to his dismay, Denis Silin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Sergey Vorontsov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but David Semagin made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sergey Vorontsov got free with David Semagin in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Denis Silin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pavel Dmitriev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Semagin having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Denis Silin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almaty Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Denis Silin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lauras Mészáros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Lev Vorobiev fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Almaty Stars's protests and gave Lev Vorobiev a yellow card for diving instead. Lev Vorobiev hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. David Semagin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Dmitriev, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Denis Silin struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Lauras Mészáros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Almaty Stars. In the 57th minute, Sergey Vorontsov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net.
