FC Golf GTI's Gennadiy Belskiy got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gennadiy Belskiy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Kapiton Lokotnikov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Lev Popovskiy fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique de Marsella's protests and gave Lev Popovskiy a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, Olympique de Marsella was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lev Popovskiy to maneuver through the defense. Kapiton Lokotnikov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemiy Golyavin, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Artemiy Golyavin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Kapiton Lokotnikov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gennadiy Belskiy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Kapiton Lokotnikov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 18th minute Boris Klimashevskiy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oleg Tomin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vyacheslav Landau kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. If Artemiy Golyavin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Olympique de Marsella booed when FC Golf GTI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egor Akinfeev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gennadiy Belskiy kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Aleksandr Bodyashkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olympique de Marsella's supporters rose to their feet, but Aleksandr Bodyashkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oleg Tomin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gennadiy Belskiy's late challenge caught a Olympique de Marsella's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gennadiy Belskiy helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Golf GTI's Gennadiy Belskiy got a free kick in the 36th minute. Oleg Tomin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksandr Bodyashkin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aleksandr Bodyashkin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Oleg Tomin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Olympique de Marsella's Boris Klimashevskiy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oleg Tomin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aleksandr Bodyashkin to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Olympique de Marsella's Boris Klimashevskiy ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Oleg Tomin. Oleg Tomin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Olympique de Marsella's Aleksandr Bodyashkin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Oleg Tomin. That made the score 0-3 after 60 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Olympique de Marsella's Lev Popovskiy got a free kick in the 66th minute. 68 minutes into the match, FC Golf GTI's goalkeeper Oleg Tomin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Boris Klimashevskiy. In the 69th minute, Boris Klimashevskiy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Golf GTI's Oleg Tomin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aleksandr Bodyashkin in the 71st minute of play. In the 73rd match minute, FC Golf GTI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timofey Bogdanov to maneuver through the defense. Kapiton Lokotnikov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemiy Golyavin in the 83rd minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Olympique de Marsella's goal looked a bit too open when Gennadiy Belskiy came free, but Kapiton Lokotnikov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Boris Klimashevskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boris Klimashevskiy struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Oleg Tomin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olympique de Marsella. After a defensive mix-up in FC Golf GTI's zone, Boris Klimashevskiy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oleg Tomin came out of the goal and Boris Klimashevskiy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
