Vitaliy Volskiy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kapiton Lokotnikov having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Olympique de Marsella's Veniamin Pavlov got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Kapiton Lokotnikov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Petr Kondratiev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kapiton Lokotnikov was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Petr Kondratiev was the one to do the kick off. German Kristallinskiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boris Klimashevskiy in the 70th minute of play. Nikolay Kochubey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Kapiton Lokotnikov made a huge save. In the 75th match minute, Olympique de Marsella was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danila Bondarev to maneuver through the defense. Petr Kondratiev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kapiton Lokotnikov having to interfere. Petr Kondratiev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Kapiton Lokotnikov made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Olympique de Marsella's zone, Nikolay Kochubey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kapiton Lokotnikov came out of the goal and Nikolay Kochubey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle sounded Partington left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Olympique de Marsella.
