The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramindar Barmi got free with Atandra Chawla in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Sowerby Bridge AFC's zone, Darbhi Haito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Atandra Chawla came out of the goal and Darbhi Haito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ramindar Barmi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atandra Chawla having to interfere. Alola Narindra charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alola Narindra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amanjeet Bansal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ambaka Kumar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Sowerby Bridge AFC booed when Norbury AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Navjot Sran didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ambaka Kumar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ramindar Barmi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ambaka Kumar couldn't finish the play. Norbury AFC's Amanjeet Bansal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasi Mohan in the 40th minute of play. Atandra Chawla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darbhi Haito in the 42nd minute of the match. Sham Kattaura kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Atandra Chawla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramindar Barmi in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 79th minute Darbhi Haito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atandra Chawla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sowerby Bridge AFC's Atandra Chawla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramindar Barmi in the 84th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Darbhi Haito in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Atandra Chawla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ramindar Barmi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Atandra Chawla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Darbhi Haito had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Atandra Chawla. Sowerby Bridge AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darbhi Haito was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Norbury AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
