After 21 minutes, Diksita Prasad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fleet and the Poster FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Fleet getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Diksita Prasad hit a great ball. Davender Barua made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manu Chhugani in the 22nd minute. The audience was convinced that Abhaya Bhasin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jagadbala Aulakh was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Hema Arneja's late challenge caught a Fleet's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manu Chhugani who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Davender Barua when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Fleet's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Palla Kumar scored to the left of an out of position Davender Barua, making the score, 1-0. Poster FC's Manu Chhugani got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kanvar Dutta to make the kick off. Manu Chhugani blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Davender Barua having to make a save. 57 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Poster FC's Kanvar Dutta fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ayuja Chattophadhyay during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 58 played minutes Fleet got a freekick which was hit by Ayuja Chattophadhyay. After 87 minutes of play, Poster FC's Kanvar Dutta made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Davender Barua was left in no man's land by his defense there!
