Clevedon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amul Linyu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Anandin Parab's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jalasa Warwaha was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. 20 minutes into the game, Kunsa Chawla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clevedon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newton Heath FC the free kick. In the 32nd minute of the match Krishnan Mondol shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jalasa Warwaha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Clevedon's Srinivas Dhillon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jalasa Warwaha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Angabhu Sangma struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Amaradatta Dosanjh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newton Heath FC. In the 41st minute Dvarakadasa Aujla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amaradatta Dosanjh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Kunsa Chawla was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 44 minutes had been played. After 45 played minutes Clevedon got a freekick which was hit by Kunsa Chawla. In the 47th minute, Angabhu Sangma made a precise shot to the right of Amaradatta Dosanjh. Clevedon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Srinivas Dhillon to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Candasa Iyengar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 54 in the game by Angabhu Sangma from a close distance when the talented Amaradatta Dosanjh managed to make a qualified save. Clevedon's players were relieved. Jalasa Warwaha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hararupa Akhtar in the 59th minute of play. The supporters of Clevedon booed when Newton Heath FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kalskandha Rekhi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Srinivas Dhillon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amaradatta Dosanjh didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 69th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. Amaradatta Dosanjh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dvarakadasa Aujla in the 78th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Srinivas Dhillon in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jalasa Warwaha saved Newton Heath FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Newton Heath FC's Candrata Sanghera got a free kick in the 87th minute. Amaradatta Dosanjh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angabhu Sangma in the 91st minute. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Angabhu Sangma got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Newton Heath FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
