Đỗ Duc started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Phan Pham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Trần Thuyet's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 6thth minute, Võ Hoa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Phan Ritchell hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Hai Phong's Võ Hoa got control of the ball when Trần Thuyet tried to sneak it across the goal line. Trần Thuyet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as TT FC's Đỗ Duc slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Võ Hoa. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. In the 18th match minute, Hai Phong was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Pham to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 22nd minute by Trần Thuyet got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Hoàng Tuan was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 23 minutes had been played. In the 24th match minute, Hai Phong was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hoàng Tuan to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 32 minutes, Đỗ Duc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TT FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Đỗ Duc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute, Đỗ Duc reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Võ Hoa. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 39th minute, Trần Thuyet left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The TT FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 43rd minute, Nguyễn Hieu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Nguyễn Viet made the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Viet blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bùi Than having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Đỗ Duc in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Võ Hoa saved Hai Phong from getting behind. After 57 minutes, Dương Phuong mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TT FC and the Hai Phong players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th match minute, TT FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dương Phuong to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Viet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Bùi Than tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dương Phuong got his second yellow card in the match during the 66th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 67 played minutes TT FC got a freekick which was hit by Dương Phuong. 68 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Viet had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bùi Than. TT FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Viet was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. When Trần Thuyet came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the TT FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Thuyet couldn't finish the play. If Trần Thuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 minutes, Nguyễn Bay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hai Phong and the TT FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nguyễn Bay kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Phan Pham kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. TT FC's Trần Thuyet got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Hoang struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. When Trần Thuyet came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the TT FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Thuyet couldn't finish the play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Hai Phong players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for TT FC.
