After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Trần Thuyet managed to get in a good position for a shot. TT FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Trần Thuyet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Lan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trần Thuyet got free with Nguyễn Lan in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Thien during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Dong Hoi getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Nguyễn Thien hit a great ball. Trần Thuyet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the game, Trần Thuyet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Nguyễn Lan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Trần Thuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. TT FC's Đỗ Duc got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Dong Hoi's Nguyễn Minh Phượng got a free kick in the 28th minute. Nguyễn Minh Phượng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bùi Than having to interfere. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind TT FC's goalkeeper Bùi Than, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Lê Thien ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bùi Than was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Dong Hoi's Nguyễn Lan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đỗ Duc in the 37th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Nguyễn Minh Phượng got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Dong Hoi defense, Trần Thuyet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Lan. The Dong Hoi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Lan should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Đỗ Duc was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Nguyễn Thien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Lê Thien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nguyễn Lan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bùi Than made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lê Thien in the 81st minute. After 81 played minutes TT FC got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Hoang. Lê Binh hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Trần Thuyet struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Nguyễn Lan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TT FC. Nguyễn Thien was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Dong Hoi's Nguyễn Thien got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 94th match minute, TT FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Hoang to maneuver through the defense. TT FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
