Mirfield United fc's Mohammad Choo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Joel Hian, made in the 11th minute of the game. In the 24th minute, Samuel Lim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per Gross, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute, Sharizan Chee left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Albirex Niigata FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sharizan Chee in the 29th minute of play forced Mirfield United fc's goalkeeper Jonathan Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Mujahid Vijiaratnam was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Albirex Niigata FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mirfield United fc the free kick. After a rather tough play, Albirex Niigata FC's Mujahid Vijiaratnam got a free kick in the 29th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Sharizan Chee notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Mirfield United fc's Jonathan Hong. Jonathan Hong was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Sharizan Chee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Hong stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Per Gross's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Jonathan Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mujahid Vijiaratnam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Sharizan Chee made the kick off in the second half. Per Gross scored 0-4 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Hong, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Prime Lee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sajeev Rajah in the 55th minute of play. Jonathan Hong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Per Gross in the 61st minute. Mujahid Vijiaratnam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Jonathan Hong made a huge save. In the 66th minute Sharizan Chee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mujahid Vijiaratnam hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mujahid Vijiaratnam got free with Jonathan Hong in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faiz Shyan in the 75th minute of play forced Albirex Niigata FC's goalkeeper Prime Lee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Hong made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Per Gross sent off a good shot on target. Mirfield United fc's Jonathan Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per Gross in the 79th minute of play. Jonathan Hong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mujahid Vijiaratnam in the 82nd minute. Sajeev Rajah kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Albirex Niigata FC's Dale Kool shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 90th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jonathan Hong but with some difficulty. Albirex Niigata FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
