Myles Moorby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brayden Woodbridge in the 7th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kane Bailey in the 12th minute of play forced Naybethong's goalkeeper Roger Boothey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Severnlea's zone, Andre Rummens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Myles Moorby came out of the goal and Andre Rummens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Brad Benson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Severnlea's supporters rose to their feet, but Brad Benson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Boothey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 18 minutes into the match, Naybethong's goalkeeper Roger Boothey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brad Benson. Andre Rummens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Bruno Giddey fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Severnlea's protests and gave Bruno Giddey a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute, Bruno Giddey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 24 played minutes, Naybethong's Iggy Mackney shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Myles Moorby came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Andre Rummens ran back to his position shaking his head. Roger Boothey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kane Bailey in the 36th minute of play. Brad Benson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Roger Boothey made a huge save. Brand Lawrence took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roger Boothey. Naybethong's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Naybethong booed when Severnlea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart Aistrope didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Severnlea's zone, Andre Rummens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Myles Moorby came out of the goal and Andre Rummens tried to chip the ball over his head. Paz Maybury didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kane Bailey was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Naybethong getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Iggy Mackney hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute, Brand Lawrence hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brayden Woodbridge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Myles Moorby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andre Rummens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Myles Moorby made a huge save. Carsyn Clist charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carsyn Clist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Severnlea booed when Naybethong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carsyn Clist didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Kane Bailey came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Severnlea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kane Bailey couldn't finish the play. When Brayden Woodbridge in the 78th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Myles Moorby kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-2 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The supporters of Severnlea booed when Naybethong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carsyn Clist didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Bart Aistrope was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Severnlea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Naybethong the free kick. Iggy Mackney was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 94th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Bruno Giddey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Naybethong players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
