In the 5th minute of the match Brye Aroege sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Matthew Vaughan skillfully saved the ball. If Marco Paull had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. NSW Fighters's Jarrett Connolly proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save NSW Fighters from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Brendon Bodimeade put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jarrett Connolly. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brendon Bodimeade got free with Jarrett Connolly in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Matthew Vaughan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otto Jobson in the 26th minute of play. If Otto Jobson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 32 minutes, Marco Paull managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NSW Fighters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Paull was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, NSW Fighters's goal looked a bit too open when Bruce Conlan came free, but Jarrett Connolly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 40 minutes, Roy Atkin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Minbrie and the NSW Fighters players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Minbrie getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Roy Atkin hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Minbrie's zone, Marco Paull stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matthew Vaughan came out of the goal and Marco Paull tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruce Conlan made a kick off. A collision led to Minbrie getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Roy Atkin hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Minbrie's zone, Marco Paull stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matthew Vaughan came out of the goal and Marco Paull tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Marco Paull had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bruce Conlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute Brendon Bodimeade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarrett Connolly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 63 minutes, Rex Pearman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minbrie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rex Pearman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Minbrie getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Stanley Whelpton hit a great ball. Minbrie's Brendon Bodimeade got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 76 minutes of play, Minbrie's Brendon Bodimeade made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jarrett Connolly was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bruce Conlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarrett Connolly having to interfere. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 81st minute, but Matthew Vaughan got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Minbrie hanging dry this time. 83 minutes into the match, Minbrie's Brendon Bodimeade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jarrett Connolly narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in NSW Fighters's zone, Brendon Bodimeade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarrett Connolly came out of the goal and Brendon Bodimeade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jarrett Connolly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruce Conlan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brendon Bodimeade in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jarrett Connolly prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Minbrie's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
