Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Downing Kurth's late challenge caught a Melbourne Glory's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Downing Kurth helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Melbourne Glory booed when Tooligie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Downing Kurth didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10th play minutes John Notley shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Edison Tout and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 15th minute John Notley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edison Tout saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwin Mewburn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Edison Tout tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Navarro Monck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Tooligie getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Logan Kiel hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Sam Clubley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Corder Wayland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Edwin Mewburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Melbourne Glory's John Notley in 46 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Edison Tout guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. John Notley struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Edison Tout didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Melbourne Glory. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bradshaw Mckinnes to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Tooligie's goal looked a bit too open when John Notley came free, but Edison Tout reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Downing Kurth hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. If Edwin Mewburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Downing Kurth kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Bradshaw Mckinnes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 76 minutes into the match, Tooligie's goal looked a bit too open when Edwin Mewburn came free, but Edison Tout reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edison Tout made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Mewburn in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Notley in the 90th minute of play forced Tooligie's goalkeeper Edison Tout to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th match minute, Tooligie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenneth Busst to maneuver through the defense. John Notley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edison Tout having to interfere. After some careless play in the Tooligie defense, Edwin Mewburn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edison Tout. The Tooligie fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edison Tout should have stopped the shot. Tooligie's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
