Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Cregan Oshea started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Pearce Gavin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bower's supporters rose to their feet, but Pearce Gavin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bartholemew Gorham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 9thth minute of the game Pearce Gavin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Backyard Football's Bartholemew Gorham was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bartholemew Gorham made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edwin Turnbull in the 11th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pearce Gavin in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bartholemew Gorham prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Jones Newton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Backyard Football defense, Edwin Turnbull kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bartholemew Gorham. The Backyard Football fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bartholemew Gorham should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Backyard Football getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Ed Starling hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edwin Turnbull got free with Bartholemew Gorham in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bartholemew Gorham didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edwin Turnbull went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Jerrard Breasley's late challenge caught a Backyard Football's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerrard Breasley helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th match minute, Bower was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Earl Maddern to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, Backyard Football's Kale Addison broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bartholemew Gorham came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Bower's Edwin Turnbull. But to his dismay, Edwin Turnbull quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pearce Gavin made a kick off. Bower's Pearce Gavin got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Malcolm Reilly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cregan Oshea, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Backyard Football's Bartholemew Gorham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edwin Turnbull in the 62nd minute of play. In the 65th minute, Alfred Castner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kale Addison hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After 70 played minutes Backyard Football got a freekick which was hit by Jones Newton. Pearce Gavin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ed Garing struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Malcolm Reilly didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Backyard Football. If Pearce Gavin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwin Turnbull in the 87th minute of play forced Backyard Football's goalkeeper Bartholemew Gorham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jones Newton charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jones Newton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jones Newton hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Cliff Watman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bartholemew Gorham. Backyard Football's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Malcolm Reilly didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Backyard Football's Ed Garing shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-2 in the ordered_time% minute. After 95 minutes of play Backyard Football's Jones Newton was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Backyard Football's Jones Newton got a free kick in the 96th minute. Pearce Gavin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Bartholemew Gorham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Backyard Football players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bower.
