Benard Coleman shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Northampton's Jerrard Mcmanamny got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jerrard Mcmanamny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 30 minutes into the game, Daniel Bielski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kolo da EA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Northampton the free kick. After a rather tough play, Kolo da EA's Daniel Bielski got a free kick in the 31st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Hans Groves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Northampton's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans Groves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antony Travers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antonio Mundine during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Antonio Mundine kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Antony Travers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Groves in the 45th minute of the match. Hans Groves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antony Travers having to interfere.

59 minutes into the match, Hans Groves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antony Travers. Kolo da EA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hans Groves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 64 minutes into the match, Northampton's Jerrard Mcmanamny sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antony Travers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 67 minutes, Hans Groves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Northampton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans Groves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Hans Groves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kolo da EA's Antony Travers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Kolo da EA from getting a goal against them. 78 minutes into the match, Northampton's Hans Groves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antony Travers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hans Groves might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antony Travers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hans Groves ran back to his position shaking his head. If Hans Groves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Hans Groves took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Antony Travers to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Northampton's Jerrard Mcmanamny got a free kick in the 87th minute. A collision led to Kolo da EA getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Elliot Powderham hit a great ball. When the match was over Northampton could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kolo da EA throughout the match.
