Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Earl Limmer got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Cliff Wakefield was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Elsternwick Amateurs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lucyvale the free kick. After a rather tough play, Elsternwick Amateurs's Cliff Wakefield got a free kick in the 3rd minute. When Kirk Mcenally came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Elsternwick Amateurs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kirk Mcenally couldn't finish the play. Alberto Dollymore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Worrall in the 10th minute of the match. From a short distance, Elsternwick Amateurs's Edward Missen, in the 17th minute, tried to place the ball behind Alberto Dollymore, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. If Edward Missen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edward Missen might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alberto Dollymore. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Missen ran back to his position shaking his head. Alberto Dollymore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kirk Mcenally's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Kirk Mcenally kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alberto Dollymore. That made the score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. In the 34th minute of the match, Edward Missen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alberto Dollymore saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Elsternwick Amateurs's zone, Earl Limmer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roy Locke came out of the goal and Earl Limmer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Dollymore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Missen in the 39th minute of the match. Elsternwick Amateurs's Edward Missen got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edward Missen to strike the kick off in the second half. If Earl Limmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edward Missen succeeded in the game's 58th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Lucyvale's Alberto Dollymore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirk Mcenally in the 61st minute of play. Potter Rummens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Dollymore having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Missen in the 65th minute of play forced Lucyvale's goalkeeper Alberto Dollymore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 played minutes Lucyvale got a freekick which was hit by Edwin Miels. 67 minutes into the match, Lucyvale's goal looked a bit too open when Kirk Mcenally came free, but Alberto Dollymore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute Edward Missen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Dollymore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Lucyvale getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Quade Sparrow hit a great ball. If Edward Missen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edward Missen got in the 81st a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Alberto Dollymore handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Kirk Mcenally sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Tom Barclay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lucyvale's supporters rose to their feet, but Tom Barclay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roy Locke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Potter Rummens's late challenge caught a Lucyvale's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Potter Rummens helped the player get up and apologised. In the 97th minute, Potter Rummens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lucyvale's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
