Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Elliott Riley took the kick off in the first half of the match. Roy Locke had great luck who in the 3rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Elliott Riley from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After a rather tough play, Yea's Carsyn Burmeister got a free kick in the 5th minute. Kirk Mcenally kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Laurence Cudmore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Roy Locke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Elsternwick Amateurs's goalkeeper Roy Locke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rob Murphy. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rob Murphy got free with Roy Locke in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Elsternwick Amateurs's Bryden Mundine got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, Kirk Mcenally left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Elsternwick Amateurs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Chuck Petersen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kirk Mcenally's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After a rather tough play, Yea's Ray Oneill got a free kick in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Edward Missen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Elsternwick Amateurs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yea the free kick. Edward Missen kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Roy Locke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laurence Cudmore's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Phil Burmeister hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. When Elsternwick Amateurs's Kirk Mcenally in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yea's goalie prevented a goal. Chuck Petersen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edward Missen's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Cliff Wakefield charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cliff Wakefield the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th minute, Cliff Wakefield hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Edward Missen made the kick off in the second half. 62 minutes into the match, Yea's goalkeeper Chuck Petersen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kirk Mcenally. If Elliott Riley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Potter Rummens sped through Yea's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Chuck Petersen. Potter Rummens hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. When Cliff Wakefield was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 74 minutes had been played. Elsternwick Amateurs's Roy Locke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elliott Riley in the 81st minute of play. In the 94th minute, Carsyn Burmeister hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roy Locke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elliott Riley in the 97th minute of play.
