The Amateurs's Hale Tevelien suffered a sore thigh after 6 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 7th minute, Bryan Favas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabian Smoothy, 7 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Michael Soekirno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 12th minute, Jessop Fenwick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the game, Aron Bowman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Amateurs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ellam the free kick. In the 14th match minute, The Amateurs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aron Bowman to maneuver through the defense. Hal Norman succeeded in the game's 14th minute to get real power on a long shot . The Amateurs's Michael Dearn hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-1! After a rather tough play, The Amateurs's Jessop Fenwick got a free kick in the 18th minute. After 19 played minutes, Ellam's Hal Norman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Michael Dearn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ellam reached it. In the 23rd minute, Byron Richard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Payne Dollymore came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the The Amateurs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Payne Dollymore couldn't finish the play. Aron Bowman kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Michael Dearn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Larry Crampton in the 28th minute of the match. If Larry Crampton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 31 minutes, Belton Heberle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ellam and the The Amateurs players grew even worse after the yellow card. Byron Richard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Doyle Newton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michael Soekirno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Michael Dearn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Larry Crampton was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aron Bowman in the 65th minute of play forced Ellam's goalkeeper Doyle Newton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Byron Richard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Doyle Newton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Byron Richard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ellam's zone, Byron Richard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doyle Newton came out of the goal and Byron Richard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Larry Crampton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Michael Dearn was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Doyle Newton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Byron Richard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Michael Dearn made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Michael Soekirno sent off a good shot on target. Michael Soekirno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Michael Dearn made a huge save. 96 minutes into the match, The Amateurs's goalkeeper Michael Dearn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michael Soekirno. The Ellam supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ellam would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
