Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Larry Crampton made the kick off which started today's match. Doyle Newton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ray Calver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Allen Park hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Doyle Newton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brown Black in the 6th minute of play. Brown Black fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doyle Newton having to interfere. Larry Crampton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Berry Brady tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ellam booed when Landsborough was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jackson Morey didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Larry Crampton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michael Soekirno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Berry Brady tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27thth minute of the game Ray Calver who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ellam's Doyle Newton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brown Black in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Doyle Newton saved Ellam from getting behind. Damon Gronow hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After 34 minutes, Ray Calver mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Landsborough and the Ellam players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ray Calver hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michael Soekirno got free with Berry Brady in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Michael Soekirno put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Berry Brady. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ray Calver stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brown Blacks short, quick shot in the 79thth minute got Doyle Newton to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 80 played minutes Landsborough got a freekick which was hit by Jemmett Diefenbach. In the 81st minute of the match Hal Norman sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Berry Brady skillfully saved the ball. Herbert Haberle hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Doyle Newton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ray Calver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ellam's Doyle Newton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ray Calver in the 93rd minute of play. Michael Soekirno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Larry Crampton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Herbert Haberle hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. 97 minutes into the match, Ellam's Hal Norman broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ellam were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Landsborough for a fine match.
