Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Brynn Rummens got the match started through his kick off. Robert Tauschke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarrod Paddle having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sydney Rockets's zone, Dario Kile stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarrod Paddle came out of the goal and Dario Kile tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Art Surman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brynn Rummens in the 8th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Best Mundine managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sydney Rockets's supporters rose to their feet, but Best Mundine was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Art Surman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Best Mundine blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Art Surman having to make a save. Art Surman was a little too slow when Brynn Rummens got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 1-0. Art Surman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brynn Rummens's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. If Best Mundine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shenhua FC - Real Madrid's Art Surman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brynn Rummens in the 22nd minute of play. If Best Mundine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarrod Paddle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Kile in the 28th minute of play. After having played for 32 minutes, Robert Tauschke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shenhua FC - Real Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Tauschke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Sydney Rockets getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Loud Wharton hit a great ball. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sydney Rockets's goalkeeper Jarrod Paddle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Brynn Rummens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Art Surman having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute Best Mundine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Art Surman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dario Kile had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60thth minute of the game Robert Tauschke who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sydney Rockets's Jarrod Paddle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Niles Dale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robert Tauschke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Jarrod Paddle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Sydney Rockets's goalkeeper Jarrod Paddle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dario Kile. Niles Dale scored 1-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jarrod Paddle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Brynn Rummens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Art Surman having to make a save. If Brynn Rummens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Best Mundine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
