An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvério Pinhal in the 8th minute of play forced Southern Thrashers's goalkeeper Nils-Erik Askelöf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvério Pinhal got free with Nils-Erik Askelöf in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ayla FC's Nilson Fraser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cai Inestrosa in the 19th minute of play. In the 80th minute Ivan Odon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils-Erik Askelöf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ayla FC's Nilson Fraser proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Ayla FC from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Ayla FC's Rob Porteus got a free kick in the 85th minute. When Silvério Pinhal fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ayla FC's protests and gave Silvério Pinhal a yellow card for diving instead. The Ayla FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Southern Thrashers's performance. The match ended with a win for Southern Thrashers.
